The Skills in Demand Visa (Subclass 482); formerly known as the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa, and replaced on 7 December 2024. This is a temporary employer sponsored visa that allows Australian businesses to address the skilled worker shortage by hiring overseas employees. The visa operates through different streams based on occupation type, salary level and requirements of the Australian employer. It enables workers and their immediate family to live and work in Australia, on a temporary visa, for up to 4 years.
