Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Australia introduced a cut of 30,000 numbers to annual permanent immigrant. He also announced the incentives to re-direct newly arrived students and workers to the regions and said it was about “busting congestion”.

Mr Morrison is introducing new regional visas forcing skilled workers to the remote areas and is cutting the yearly immigration intake by 30000.

Skilled workers will be eligible to apply for PR if they work and live for 3 years in regional areas, in a proffer to attract immigrants from cities.

Migration Minister David Coleman and Prime Minister Scott Morrison outlined the new process of immigration saying populace was a "key component" to the economy of Australia.

The Australian government will use PR as the lure to make sure that skilled workers stay in regional area, with a 99% compliance rate in the scheme.
